Things were reaching their climax. The end was upon them, and the world had decided to place its future in their hands. This had proved to be a mistake.
The seeds of war had been sown amongst the leaders of the world powers. The one chance at a lasting peace between all nations, a future of prosperity and hope, forged through the united endeavour of each nation, turned to dust in a day. Each race had built their armies and defences to weather the storm that was coming, as a result of party’s actions. Now these forces would be loosed upon the world in a war which could split the very surface of the planet, trusting of course that the world did not end that night, in fire, blood and the screams of dying dreams.
Alexei had made his preparation. He was more than willing to die this day, and had put in place plans and deals to aid him. Pacts had been made, training gained, advice received, Redemption……….that was yet to be earned, but perhaps tonight he would find peace.
The gods of all races looked down upon them. Sigmar cast his eyes upon Borin, as did Khorne. Grungni placed his trust on Garrot, hoping the favoured son of the Dwarven people would do them proud. He was now one of them again, he was a Dwarven hero. Nurgle however had his eyes fixed upon Garrot as well, hoping that he would play his part as he needed to. Slannesh stared on at Xigdestra, fixed in place as the tension mounted. Asuryan looked down upon Jenny; Lunx was under the scrutiny of Tzeentch. Every plan and counter plan now lay in Lunx’s hands. He hoped Lunx would not make a poor decision. No god looked down upon Blu. No favour was given, and no gaze even glanced upon him, for fear that he might look back.
The nations of the world stood, breath held. The gods, watched, waiting for the outcome and Alexei stood, upon the edge of the vale, at the top of the world, at the source of all magic, and looked on, as the six figures who heralded his death, advanced towards him. He paused for a moment, to savour the air, and smiled. Ready.
Whatever happened tonight, this was the end. everything would be revealed.
He gave the signal, and the sky began to tear.
